The new book is available!

I began working on Legends, Lore and Secrets of Western New York (The History Press) in December, not really a long time ago in writing land, but I devoted all my time to this project aside from regular work. I had a June deadline and even had proofreading to do on my first three days of vacation in late July, as well as extra reading and proofing for three days on my return.

My last book "Medieval Tales that Kids Can Read and Tell" (August House Publishing) was published 2000. I have been working since then on a book about using story with at-risk youth (not yet published) and have two stories in anthologies. "The Bleeding Heart" in The Healing Heart- Communities, and "One Lace Glove" in August House's newest release The August House Book of Scary Stories.

Needless to say, I am very excited about this latest project. Legends, Lore and Secrets of Western New York highlights a significant region in New York State and the country, I might add. I have attempted to capture the spirit of this region and its people. Sometimes classified as "upstate" it is as far removed in character as it is in distance from the rest of New York.

I hope readers will be inspired, not only by the brilliance that is Western New York, but to collect stories of their own regions and pass them along so they are not lost or forgotten.
